Nijmegen – Eén op de vijf mensen in Nederland krijgt te maken met een vorm van dementie. Kunst is een middel dat verlichting kan brengen. Op zondag 12 oktober a.s. vindt daarom van 14.30-16.00 uur de première voorstelling plaats van ‘Een Vensterbank Vol Vergeet Mij Nietjes’ in de Stevenskerk in Nijmegen. Een interactieve voorstelling voor (dementerende) ouderen en hun naasten mee terugneemt naar de jaren ’50 en waarbij alle zintuigen worden geprikkeld.
Met een muzikale voorstelling wil Stichting Vivendi mensen met verschillende vormen van dementie even laten vergeten dat ze vergeten. En ook hun naasten bereiken en door middel van muziek en theater het verdriet en angst die de ziekte met zich meebrengt helpen verzachten. Samen met de pianist Joep van Leeuwen, zullen de actrices Julia Berendse en Astrid Nijssen het verhaal vertellen van Neeltje van Steenwijk en Anna-Petronella van Klavieren. De een wil zelfstandig zijn en gelijk aan de man. De ander is getrouwd en zorgt dat het eten op tijd op tafel staat. Deze twee totaal verschillende vrouwen laten zien welke invloed geloof, liefde, geld, de oorlog, maar vooral vriendschap heeft op hun leven. Zijn ze wel zo verschillend?
Voorstelling bijwonen
Hoe geweldig zou het zijn om met ruim 300 generatiegenoten en hun naasten de liedjes van toen op 12 oktober mee te zingen? De voorstelling is een prachtig uitje voor ouderen (met en zonder dementie) en uiteraard hun naasten. Kaarten kosten 5,- per persoon en zijn online te bestellen via www.stichtingvivendi.com of verkrijgbaar op de dag van de voorstelling bij de entree van de Stevenskerk.

Om van de middag een doorslaand succes te maken is Nijmegen Cares nog op zoek naar vrijwilligers die de bezoekers van de voorstelling ontvangen, naar hun plek begeleiden, verzorgen met een kopje koffie en aansluiten bij ouderen van wie naasten niet aanwezig kunnen zijn. Today, I went to the beachfront with my kids.
