Nijmegen – The Matrixx sluit haar deuren, per 1 januari 2015 zal de discotheek vertrekken uit Nijmegen. Op de website Funda wordt het pand voor 1,6 miljoen te koop aangeboden. The Matrixx zal blijven bestaan, maar de feesten zullen elders plaatsvinden. Voor The Matrixx is het belangrijk enkele goedlopende feesten te kunnen blijven aanbieden, waar tussen de 5.000 en 10.000 man naar binnen kunnen. Het pand in Nijmegen biedt ruimte aan ‘slechts’ 2.000 mensen, en is dus niet meer groot genoeg. Verder wil The Matrixx zijn horizon ook gaan verbreden, ze hebben hun blik gericht op het buitenland, en zijn komende zomer voor het eerst actief op Dreamfields in Bali.
